Community Relations Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Marketing

Scope: Develop and maintain relationships with members of various target market segments and audiences, as well as with the broader community.

Additional Responsibilities: Participation in weekly all-staff, departmental and team meetings. Assisting in all aspects of the Marketing Office under the supervision of the Director of Marketing to include Camp LEX Overnight Adventure program, group tours, education, special events and all other duties to be assigned.
Knowledge Required: Experience in customer service, excellent written communication skills and interpersonal skills, exhibits positive professionalism. Experience with content development using platforms such as Canva, Constant Contact, and WordPress. Working knowledge of audio/visual equipment, including sound boards, microphones, and projectors. General knowledge of the museum, hospitality, visitor attraction, or tourism industries. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
License/Certification Requirements: Valid Texas driver’s license and an insurable driving record. Ability to obtain Youth Protection Training Certification upon employment. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred. Minimum of two years of professional experience in community relations, marketing, communications, event coordination, or a similar role.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to wet, hot, cold and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the environment is moderate to occasionally loud. The USS Lexington Museum is open 7 days a week including holidays.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to file, handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand; walk long distance and climb and balance for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 10-20 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The USS Lexington Museum is a Non-Profit Organization. This is a full-time position and eligible for benefits after 60 days of employment, including Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, AD&D/Life, and Retirement.
