The Department of Music at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi presents PNEUMA in its debut concert performance at the Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020. Led by Artistic Director Ksenija Komljenovic, Assistant Professor of Music, PNEUMA performs both chamber and contemporary music. The members of the quartet first began collaborating at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami in 2014. Members of the ensemble include prize winners of the famed Concert Artist Guild competition (New York), International Percussion Competition Luxembourg (Luxembourg), and Tomarimbando International Percussion Festival (Portugal). The quartet’s name, PNEUMA, is borrowed from Stoic philosophy, which refers to the vital spirit, soul, or creative force of a person.
