Groundbreaking for Quick Quack Car Wash

The car wash company that has become Quick Quack Car Wash was founded as Splash & Dash Car Wash in 2004 in Sacramento, California by Jason Johnson, Tim Wright, Chris Vaterlaus, Greg Drennan and Travis Kimball. Jason and Travis met in business school at Brigham Young University several years earlier where Jason had developed a business plan for a car wash company as a school project. After a “slow” start working through several challenges, the company grew to six locations in the Sacramento area before looking to expand into different weather patterns. In 2008, just before the recession, the company acquired Quick Quack Car Wash out of Amarillo, Texas, and rebranded the Sacramento locations and never looked back. After managing through the recession and developing strategic partnerships, Quick Quack Car Wash now operates more than 80 locations in five states (California, Texas, Utah, Arizona and Colorado.)

Our Utah Development partner, Dallas Hakes, who is involved in several other business as well, was exploring Corpus Christi for business opportunities and determined that it exhibited characteristics to be a good car wash market.  Corpus Christi's population suggests it should be able to support several express car washes and we have found success in clustering locations in an area to create opportunities from community partnerships, branding and adding value to our "wash all you want" unlimited car wash memberships.  As Texas is already a state in which we have a rich history and current operations (Amarillo and Houston), we were excited to add another Texas market to the team.
