Goodwill Industries of South Texas has been a leading provider of job training and employment placement programs for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment. The revenue from the sale of donations helps fund Goodwill’s job training programs. In the Coastal Bend we offer Goodwill Veterans Services, where Goodwill helps veterans, unemployed or underemployed, find employment and Employment Services, where Goodwill provides job training and employment placement to people with disabilities.
John Owen, president & CEO for Goodwill Industries of South Texas says, “We are excited to open the new Goodwill store in Annaville.” He continues, “Most people are unaware that when they donate to Goodwill, they become job creators right here in the Coastal Bend. The revenue generated from sales at Goodwill stores goes towards funding Goodwill’s mission services, which include employment and job training programs for people with disabilities and other disadvantaging conditions. Goodwill stores and donation stations exist to give people in need a hand-up rather than a hand-out.”
Goodwill Industries of South Texas was founded by seven men from the Downtown Lions Club (Corpus Christi) in 1948.
The Veterans Band of Corpus Christi will play from 8:40 a.m. until 9:10 a.m. to commemorate the opening and also Flag Day.
