Professor Vasquez-Mena will share some of the most important challenges he faced in his STEM career, stressing the importance to always pursue our goals as well as recognize new opportunities that will always emerge when pursuing such goals. He will also stress his conviction that science and mathematics belong to humanity and how ancestral cultures in Mexico like the Mayans and Egyptians already used mathematics to predict behaviors and develop tools (technology) to observe and modify their environment.
