The Islander Gallery at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi kicks off fall 2019 with “Big Mood,” an undergraduate student artwork exhibition that is concerned with the common and relatable experiences of being a contemporary artist and individual. Curated by MFA candidate Clarissa Gonzalez and juried by Corpus Christi artist Mayra Zamora, “Big Mood” stands as an expression of life experiences and what it means to be an artist. The opening reception, which takes place in the Islander Gallery Friday, Sept. 13, from 6-8 p.m., is free and open to the public. The exhibition runs through Oct. 4; Islander Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. Islander Gallery is at 4024 Weber Road in the Hamlin Shopping Center.
