The Department of English at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is hosting the 23nd annual University Authors’ Day on Thursday, Feb. 6, from 6-8 p.m. in Island Hall, room 160. The event is free and open to the public. Award-winning author Ire’ne Lara Silva is the event’s keynote speaker. She is the author of three poetry collections, including “CUICACALLI/House of Song,” an e-chapbook, “Enduring Azucares,” as well as a short story collection, “flesh to bone” which won the Premio Aztlán.
