Authentic Latin American Cuisine Pop-Up Benefiting CASA of the Coastal Bend

It is often said that the best way to a person’s heart is through their stomach. Oliver Palacios with FoodWorks Factory is giving the Coastal Bend community an opportunity to show their compassion for local youth in foster care through a pop-up food event, offering a menu that cannot be found elsewhere in the Coastal Bend.

On Saturday, April 24^th FoodWorks Factory will park their food truck at CASA of the Coastal Bend, 2602 Prescott, to serve Authentic Latin American Cuisine, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

100% of the proceeds will benefit CASA of the Coastal Bend.

Adult meals are $10 and include:
- Choice of of one: Authentic Valenzuela Seafood Paella
                                  Authentic Mexican Trompo de al Pastor
                                  Authentic Mexican Trompo de Pollo
- Fresh tortillas made on site
- Side of Monterey style charro beans
- Homemade, fresh squeezed fruit drinks including lemonade and aqua Fresca de melon

Children’s meals are $5 and include:
- Chicken tenders
- Fries
- Mac and cheese cup
- Juice pouch

Those interested in learning more about CASA  are encouraged to attend a brief, non-committal 45 minute information session to hear about the roles and requirements of a CASA volunteer. Information sessions are held Wednesday at noon via Zoom.  Visit coastalbendcasa.org for details.

CASA of the Coastal Bend’s mission is to advocate for the best interest of children in Nueces and Aransas County foster care. Trained Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) gather information and evaluate the needs of the children. These volunteers work collaboratively with families and other associated professionals to provide valuable information to the judge. A CASA volunteer is a consistent presence in a child’s life during the process of the case.
