Join us for the 5th Annual Surviving the Rip 5K/10K Run/Walk — a community event dedicated to raising awareness about open-water safety and rip current survival.
Thanks to the support of participants and sponsors, our efforts have already helped reduce rip-current related rescues and fatalities across Nueces County. In fact, no rip current deaths were reported in 2022 or 2023. Yet the heartbreaking loss of two individuals, including a teenager, on September 22, 2024, along with four drownings at Lake Corpus Christi, remind us that the fight for water safety is far from over.
Your participation fuels lifesaving programs — from continuous safety education and signage to hands-on outreach at beaches, lakes, schools, and community events. Together, we can ensure that awareness, prevention, and preparedness remain strong, so no family has to endure the tragedy of losing a loved one to preventable open-water hazards.
Ready to make a difference? Join us as a vendor or sponsor and stand with us in saving lives. Contact us today at (361) 442-5527 or info@jesanismithfoundation.org to secure your place in this vital mission.
