Conrad has been witness to many preventable injuries and deaths throughout his 40 year career as a firefighter, paramedic, and flight paramedic on a helicopter in San Antonio, Texas. Now, an author and with his new book, his goal is to continue saving lives through intervention, prevention, and education.
His new book, now available at (By the Book Bookstore), contains 40 true and compelling short stories that covers suicide prevention, installing smoke alarms, seat belt usage, choking, and more! We can also save the life of a firefighter as well!
Conrad M. Gonzales, Jr. was born and raised in San Antonio, TX, where he has served its citizens for over 40 years. He began his career as a firefighter, then EMT and flight paramedic; after “retirement” he spent 20 years working with various nonprofits as a safety educator and parent educator. Now, he is a paramedic instructor at the University of Texas Health Center, and finally began his career as a writer.
Conrad’s passion, although retired for 20 years, is to continue saving lives with his book “10-96 (We’re on the way). His forty true stories of riveting calls he responded to as a first responder will keep you on edge and make you feel like you’re at the scene!
In his free time, Conrad enjoys songwriting and singing at local venues. He and his wife, Alma, spend time together cooking, traveling, and dancing. He enjoys being with his children and his entire family. His book is available on Amazon and selected bookstores. He has appeared on television and radio programs in San Antonio. He has traveled across the country and Puerto Rico providing safety education with different non-profit agencies throughout his career.
